What to do when you are stuck on Competitive Coding/Programming questions?

Competitive programming is a mind sport usually held over the Internet or a local network, involving participants trying to program according to provided specifications. Contestants are referred to as sport programmers. Competitive programming is recognized and supported by several multinational software and Internet companies, such as Google, Facebook and IBM. There are several organizations who host programming competitions on a regular basis.

People who have an interest in Competitive Programming start off by trying Practice question available on websites like HackerEarth, HackerRank, Codechef, SPOJ and so on. The list is endless.

They start off with easy questions gradually increasing difficulty of the questions.

But what to do when someone is stuck and isn't able to move forward..

Here is the solution...

  1. Always start off with easy question and gradually increase your level, Moreover, make up habit to solve atleast some problems in a day. This way you will be in a rhythm and it would help you a lot.
  2. If you are still stuck on some program, refer to online websites and try googling the particular problem you are having.
  3. If you still aren't able to find anything, go to GitHub  and create a free account. After that search for the website on which you are coding. You will find most of the solutions here.
  4. For example, this is my repository for HackerEarth. I solved about a 100 question and uploaded them here.
  5. Please don't misuse this. Only try to see the solution on which you were stuck for a long time.
